Your coaching session is a time for contemplation, critical reflection and exploration. You are held in a protected space of deep self-reflection beyond the confinements and pressures of everyday life.
You focus on what you most want to create or achieve, what you are ready to let go of, and the obstacles you need to overcome on your way towards happiness and fulfillment. As an experienced certified coach I am supporting you during the process.
The journey is the destination.
My coaching style is goal-oriented. But it is really the journey that holds the magic. Step by step you get closer to your objective. And as in real life, its often the detours that are most eye-opening and inspiring.
Between coaching sessions, I will encourage you to complete mini-assignments that we create together. It is through these practices, everyday choices, reflections and shifts in your lifestyle that you will move you closer to your goals.
The Power of Refrainment
Humans have a natural “action biased”. We tend to act even if not doing anything would be the better option.
Refrainment means keeping oneself from doing, feeling, or indulging in something and especially from following a passing impulse.
We need to stop more often. Rest & reflection are key to become humans, lead more fulfilling lives and make the world a kinder place. Together we will practice “non-doing” and you will explore how profoundly it can change your life.
How exactly does coaching work?
Individual Coaching Tailored to Your Needs
Every coaching session is unique and tailored to your specific needs. The process and content are oriented towards your current situation, goals, and expectations, whether you are a corporate client or an individual. We work in a structured and solution-oriented manner, ensuring that results are visible and successes are tangible.
Step One: A Free Initial Consultation (15-30 Minutes)
In the initial consultation, you have the opportunity to get to know me and my coaching style and to explain your concerns. You will learn how I would specifically proceed in your case, and we will assess whether "the chemistry is right" and if we both can envision working together. The initial consultation lasts about 15 to 30 minutes and takes place either in person or via a video call. If you decide to work with me during this initial consultation, you will receive a coaching contract that outlines all modalities such as the number of sessions (in the case of packages), fees, as well as the preliminary content and goals of the coaching. The contract also includes confidentiality obligations and a reference to the ethical guidelines I adhere to.
Individual Coaching Session Process:
Each session is individually tailored to your needs, but generally follows the same basic structure:
Contracting: Where are you today? What is your concern and your goal for today's session? How will we proceed?
Exploration: You explain your concern, I listen attentively, ask targeted questions, and help you get to the core of the issue and develop solutions.
Conclusion: We check if you have achieved your session goal, how you will approach your solution with concrete steps, what you need for it, and when we will review the progress next time. Upon request, I also send you reminders and support between sessions to help you with the implementation. In emergencies, I am available outside of office hours.
Phases of the Coaching Process Across Sessions:
Clarification & Exploration Phase
Situation Analysis: You describe your concern through examples and experiences. Together, we identify key themes, establish connections, and identify possible levers for change.
Goal Clarification: We define your goals concretely and document them in writing. They provide the framework for the further course of our coaching relationship, ensuring transparency regarding the process and your progress, making successes visible throughout the coaching journey. Your coaching goal should be sufficiently concrete, realistic, and independently achievable by you. It should be measurable, motivating, and directional without being overly restrictive. Goals may shift during the process. Often, the mere structuring of themes, clarifying connections, and visualizing your options brings significant relief.
Change Phase
During this phase, you work intensively and step-by-step on implementing your goals, with my support as needed. New behavioral patterns are practiced, new perspectives tested, and changes become visible and tangible.
Conclusion Phase
In the conclusion phase, we discuss the developed solutions and areas for development. We reflect on the coaching process both content-wise and methodologically, ensuring the sustainability of the solutions developed and the continuation of your development path. I am available for ongoing support upon request. Some clients value the coaching as a space for guided personal and impartial reflection so much that they schedule regular weekly or monthly coaching sessions.
How Many Coaching Sessions Make Sense?
A coaching session typically lasts 60 minutes and is conducted online via video call or in person when possible. The number of necessary sessions varies individually, depending on your concern and the coaching's course and your progress towards achieving the set goals. For smaller topics with relatively concrete goals, one to three sessions may suffice. More complex issues, leadership skill development, team coaching, or challenging life situations may require ten or more sessions and potentially involve conversations and workshops with multiple participants. During the clarification phase, I provide an assessment and offer coaching packages with special conditions and rates for individuals and companies for longer-term collaborations.
